The primary responsibility of an Assistant Finance Business Partner is to prepare management accounts that include prompt and accurate analysis for reporting and drive operational and financial performance. As an Assistant Business Partner, the role involves building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships that enable strong financial performance and aid in insightful business decisions
Key Accountabilities
Month-end Reporting: Managing weekly bank reconciliations, month-end journals, revenue recognition, Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis.
Management Accounts: Preparing monthly P&L and BS reports for individual entities or the consolidated group, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close; and acting as Management Accountant for the Groups small European entity.
Variance Analysis: Performing monthly variance analysis, ensuring that each cost code is on track with their budgets, and where necessary investigating any material differences.
Intercompany: Managing intercompany transfers to ensure correct recharges are booked and AR relationships are managed accurately across the group.
KPI Reporting: Collaborating with the group firms to collate KPI data, reporting this within our accounting system, which is then included as part of monthly board packs.
Continuous Improvement: Setting up and improving processes where needed to improve efficiency within the group.
Statutory: Assisting with company audits, year-end reporting and being one of the main point of contacts for all audit queries
Maintaining fixed asset register.
Assist with the automation of banking procedures to eliminate inefficient manual processes.
Supporting the development of treasury platforms and cash forecasting processes.
Build processes with Department holders to effect control and review of expenditure.
Develop knowledge and educate users in VAT compliance and care.
What will make you successful?
Part Qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
Prior experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn new systems
Ability to work individually but also collaborate with teams both face-to-face and virtually
High degree of credibility, integrity, and comfortable managing sensitive information in a professional manner
