Technical Fibre Products (TFP), a leading international Advanced Materials manufacturing company located in the Albany, NY area, currently has a unique career growth opportunity to join our client services and business development team.
At TFP, we develop and manufacture high-performance nonwoven materials and coatings for hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers - offering not just a diverse product range but the capability to tailor materials to meet specific performance requirements. Our products serve applications in a wide variety of fields including surface engineering of composites, fire protection, thermal insulation, power storage, and various electrochemical applications. Our customers make parts using our materials for parts on planes, hockey sticks, electric vehicles, fighter planes, hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers.

Our expertise is drawn from an extensive knowledge of working with a wide range of polymers, particulates, and specialty fibers. This experience ensures that we continue our 35-year tradition of delivering customized material solutions for our customers.

The ideal candidate will be able to learn about our capabilities in the electrolyzer and fuel cell market and confidently communicate a narrative the customer can understand and relate to. The primary objective of this role is to obtain new business by increasing sales at existing accounts and to get material specified into new products and markets.
Key Account Management
Further penetration into key customer organizations
Complete quarterly business reviews with key customers
Manage and challenge customer expectations
Ensure inquiries, requested information, and samples are processed promptly
Create and manage supply agreements
Manage non-disclosure agreements
New Customer Acquisition
Successfully prospect and win new business
Gain an understanding of the needs of potential customers and provide relevant solutions
Give presentations in person professionally and competently
Answer technical questions and work with TFP personnel to deliver the best solution
Promptly provide recommendations, samples, and quotes to the prospect
Report on volume demand, timeline, and application internally
Manage and challenge prospect’s expectations
Marketing and Communication
Research and prospect to help identify new business opportunities where TFP’s advanced materials and capabilities may be applied.
Understand the US customer base and support the marketing team where needed CRM Maintenance and Reporting
Ensure that the data in CRM is correct and processes are followed
The successful candidate will have;
US Citizenship or Greencard holder
B.S. or B.A Degree with some science and mathematics coursework. Ideally, in physical science such as Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, or Engineering. Equivalent training/professional experience will be considered
5+ years of business experience, preferably in an industrial/engineering/materials environment
Ability to interact and work efficiently with motivation and enthusiasm within all departments of TFP, both here in the US and with corporate headquarters in the UK
Continuously improve business processes and resolve issues of service, product availability, and product quality for customers
Ability to prioritise, interpret, think creatively and plan ahead for contingencies
An authentic and customer-oriented approach for our new and existing customers
Positive, self-motivated, and team orientated.
Competent Microsoft Office and CRM Database use and maintenance

This is an office-based position, working Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 to 4:00 based in Schenectady although remote options will be considered.
There is some opportunity for flexibility within this work schedule to meet individual needs. Travel by plane will be required. Typically for 5 days per month.
