Garage Mechanic

We have a vacancy for a mechanic to work in the garage facility helping maintain all mobile equipment in a safe working and productive order.

The primary accountabilities of the role are as follows:

- Arranging offsite repairs to mobile plant/equipment

- Arranging and supervising contractors working on selected mobile equipment including forklift truck and the road truck fleet

- Repairs and administering fault diagnosis and problem solving on mobile equipment in terms of machine breakdown run ability and safety related work

- Ensuring compliance with relevant road transport, environmental and health and safety legislation e.g road fleet MOT certification, VOSA compliance, vehicle emissions,

- Company safe working policies and procedures and Company environmental policies and procedures in the garage

- Prepare & present HGVs for test and deliver for repair as required

The successful candidate will ideally be a time served mechanic with over 3 years relevant experience. Applicants should have a HNC/D qualification or equivalent. It would be preferable to have a HGV driving licence, however all relevant training will be provided.

Computer literacy and strong problem solving and team working skills are essential. An active involvement in safety and change management is also crucial to this role.

This is a days role working every other Saturday morning. Some on call work and overtime will be required.
