A happy workplace is important where everyone is equally as important and their contribution, valued. Here is how we make that happen.
Valuing Difference: Diversity and Inclusion
Crucial to any successful company is diversity of thought, experience and background. At James Cropper we ensure our recruitment and employment practices are inclusive providing equal opportunities for all individuals to allow us to recruit, develop and retain the best people. As a company we believe we all deserve the opportunity to develop our skills and talents to our full potential, work in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment, and be fairly rewarded and recognised for our work and have a meaningful voice on matters that affect us.
Health and Wellbeing
We have a number of Health and Wellbeing initiatives at James Cropper plc: - We have regular visits from an Occupational Health provider to undertake basic checks and give advice. - We offer a health cash plan – Medicash – to all employees. This provides cash back towards everyday healthcare bills and a wide range of other wellbeing benefits to each person and their children. - All employees also have access to an Employee Assistance Programme with information, advice and support available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We have achieved ‘Bronze Award’ status on the Better Health at Work Award (BHAWA) scheme to help promote healthy lifestyles via campaigns such as ‘Mental Health and Stress’, ‘Men’s Health’ and ‘Back Pain’.
Alongside the BHAWA, we have recruited and trained over 50 Mental Health First Aiders who can recognise the crucial warning signs of mental ill health and feel confident to guide someone to appropriate support.
Gender Pay Gap Report
As a Group with Global reach and ambition, a fantastic heritage and a focus on world class innovation, diversity and equality are not just nice to haves. They are an essential part of securing the future of our business. Gender Pay is an equality measure introduced in 2017, which shows the difference in average earnings between all men and women in the workforce. Every year James Cropper produces a report published on the company website with our results. Each year the company will review our results and take continued measures to reduce our gender pay gap.
