Luxury Packaging Team’s Welcome to Packaging Innovations

Packaging Innovations, a trade event that sees producers of product packaging materials from myriad commercial sectors come together; will welcome James Cropper’s Luxury Packaging Team and their customers to this year’s edition. Taking place in London, at the Business Design Centre on Tuesday 30 September and Wednesday 1 October 2014, four members of the team will travel from the Lake District to present five innovative new product ranges and enjoy the company of contacts attending from the UK and the rest of the world.
Susan Wilson, Luxury Packaging Manager has attended a number of previous events and says that this year’s event presents opportunities for all:
“This year we have a few different launches, with the key being our Coffee range made from 50% reclaimed paper cup fibres, which is a recycling and upcycling success story. Where recycled products might have once been less valuable and less beautiful than their original materials, the formula has been completely reversed by us, producing a premium product that is stunning.
“For us, that is what this year’s Packaging Innovations is all about,” Susan continues: “It’s an opportunity for us to further raise the profile of James Cropper paper as a company that innovates. We’re very much a producer of custom-made products, tipping the balance from stock products to items made specifically for the needs of our customers, which makes us so different from so many other paper and packaging manufacturers.”
Visitors to the James Cropper stand, E57 located in a designated ‘luxury’ section of the exhibition, will be able to meet Susan and Commercial Director, Chris Brown. Joining them will be Marjolein Pelling, Luxury Packaging Account Manager and Louise Dawson, Luxury Packaging Internal Sales Executive.
Each is especially keen to share a coffee with current and future customers as Susan explains:
“James Cropper will be sponsoring the event’s coffee cups, and then inviting everyone to dispose of their cup once they’ve finished their drink on our stand. We have a special recycling zone, from where they will be taken back to our Reclaimed Fibre Facility and put directly back into the paper production process.”
The paper ranges being launched by James Cropper paper at Packaging Innovations 2014 include:
Coffee
Paper that defines innovation in sustainable paper production. James Cropper have perfected the upcycling of disposable single-use coffee cups, previously destined to end up in landfill, and given them a second chance. The result is a world first coffee cup recycling plant opened by HM The Queen in 2013 and, now, a range of fine papers. Six coffee-themed colours contain not only 50% reclaimed fibres, but the essence of environmentally conscious paper making.
Cocoa
An award-winning range of seven papers in earthy tones and fruit colours that each contain a percentage of cocoa shell powder for a distinctive, natural colour and to reuse of one of the chocolate industry’s most abundant, yet reusable waste products. Cocoa offers an intelligent solution for the recycling of otherwise lost organic materials; this distinguished range gives buyers a choice in both colour and conscience.
Black
Sophistication comes in many shades and James Cropper is a master in providing nuances in depth, hue and texture, and holds over 50 recipes for black, the darkest, most elusive of paper colours. The new range comprises five of our ready-to-order blacks. Natural Obsidian, a deep black that is food approved; Gloss Black, a mirror-effect laminate; Comet Carbon, a shimmering pearlescent; Vanguard Black, a graphic board made from 60% coffee cup fibre; Black Bowston, made wholly from 100% recovered fibre.
Mirror
Mirror showcases a versatile range of classy gloss and matt foil laminate papers and boards. Statement packaging projects can benefit from the impeccably smooth finish and range of eight colours, from matt and gloss silver and gold to hi-gloss red, green, blue and a distinctive black. Whether used for vibrant outer packaging or as an eye-catching point of contrast, Mirror allows for a multitude of applications and creative possibilities.
Carvetian Suede
Opening a box or an envelope with the feel of luxurious, soft suede tells you that something special is waiting within. Buyers can make the packaging of their products and projects feel as incredible as what’s inside by choosing one of James Cropper’s Carvetian Suede papers in a range of four natural colours, each designed to evoke the precise qualities of real suede in a sustainable paper product containing 40% recycled fibres.
