Technical Fibre Products Inc. Exhibiting at JEC Americas, Atlanta

TFP are pleased to announce that they will be exhibiting at the JEC Americas & TechTextil NA events, May 13-15 on booth 1253 in the Georgia World Conference Center (GWCC) in Atlanta.
TFP will be showcasing a new, extended range of lightweight thermoplastic veils including PEEK, Nylon, Polyester, PEI & PPS. These thermoplastic veils can be incorporated into a composite as interlaminar layers between reinforcement fabrics, offering improvements to the composite’s fracture toughness by reducing microcrack propagation. Other new developments include the recent commissioning of a flat bed laminator, as well as the manufacture of a nonwoven produced exclusively from recycled carbon fiber. The latter demonstrates comparable properties to TFP’s virgin fiber veils with the added benefit of environmental sustainability, whilst lamination enables TFP to increase functionality through bonding of multi-layer structures, powder addition and compression of substrates.
TFP’s ultra lightweight range of materials will also be on display, the highlight being the world's lightest nonwoven carbon veil at 2 g/m². These lightweight materials are the ideal candidates for use as a carrier or stabilizing support for fragile materials or adhesive films, as they facilitate uniform application of the adhesive with a minimum associated weight addition.
As well as these recent material and capability developments, TFP will be promoting the full range of Optiveil™, Optimat® and Tecnofire® materials which are specifically designed for the surface engineering of composites. Optiveil™ and Optimat® are the ideal choice for composite surfacing solutions. Their exceptional uniformity of fiber dispersion and resin uptake delivers a high quality surface finish whilst fiber type can be selected to impart additional functionality such as conductivity, EMI shielding and corrosion & abrasion resistance. Tecnofire® also provides surface functionality, delivering highly effective passive fire protection for composites without compromising the integrity of the structure.
