Technical Fibre Products (TFP) has over 30 years’ experience working with and supplying leading companies in the areas of defence, aerospace, fuel cells and composites, to name but a few.
We provide a wide range of solutions for these applications, including providing superior surface finish, improved resin flow, electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance in composite structures. As well as manufacturing gas diffusion layer (GDL) substrates for fuel cells, providing electromagnetic shielding for electronics and fire protection and thermal insulation materials.
TFP Hydrogen Products is a specialist in the manufacturing and development of electrochemical materials, particularly for the hydrogen economy. We produce a wide selection of materials for hydrogen technologies including water electrolysis materials and catalysts, GDL substrate for fuel cells and coated electrodes for the full range of electrochemical processes.
We have an experienced team of electrochemists, developing and manufacturing a range of solutions for applications such as electrolysers, fuel cells, batteries and medical devices.
TFP’s continuous innovation is demonstrated by our ongoing investment in research activities. Our dedicated Technology team is involved in a number of collaborations with leading academic institutions and high profile industrial partners in areas such as aerospace, energy, defence and composite manufacture.
The projects operate at a number of TRL levels, with topics ranging from the development of products for next generation technologies to an increased understanding of the properties and performance of our nonwovens.

Our commitment to quality is typified by the advanced control systems onour production machines. These include high resolution fault detection systems, which carry out continuous checks, assessing the quality of every square metre of our Optiveil® & Optimat® materials to a resolution as precise as 1µm. This augments the existing continuous measurement of areal weight and the combined online systems ensure the quality & consistency of our materials.

TFP has been supporting the development of green energy technologies for over 20 years. Our materials are used in a variety of alternative energy applications, ranging from fuel cells to wind turbines. Our materials are also used extensively in composite structures, which play a fundamental role in the drive to reduce CO2 emissions in the aerospace and automotive industries. The use of composites significantly reduces component weight without compromising on material strength or performance. We deliver specially designed lightweight nonwovens that meet composite performance, compatibility and aesthetic requirements, supporting and facilitating the drive for reduced emissions.
