Achievements for Engineering Maintenance team at the T2000 awards

The Training 2000 Engineering Awards recognise the hard work of apprentices and their support teams in developing the engineers of the future. The annual event took place at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, a splendid 700 year old manor house in Clayton-le-Moors, on Friday 12th May 2017.
The engineering maintenance team at James Cropper PLC scooped three awards on the evening. Martin Allen, electrical maintenance apprentice, won two awards including Apprentice of the Year for the high standard of work completed over the four years of his apprenticeship. Stephen Baines, engineering apprentice, won the national BTEC Maintenance award for his contributions over the last 12 months. Dave Watson, chief operating office, Glyn Gannon, maintenance manager and Stephen’s father Ian Baines, maintenance planning coordinator, from James Cropper PLC supported the worthy winners at the presentation dinner.
Ian Baines said: “The team are really proud of what all our apprentices have achieved. It has been a highly rewarding experience for all concerned, and the evening marked another great success story for the business.”

· In Company Advanced Apprentice of the Year
Stephen Baines’ award:
· FE Btec National Maintenance Award
The awards, hosted by T2000’s director of education and skills, Steve Whitehead and 97.4 Rock FM presenter, Darryl Morris, brought together 150 apprentices, trainers and businesses to celebrate their achievements throughout the last year.
