Burneside-based paper mill James Cropper has donated £5,000 to local charity, the Cumbrian Community Foundation.
James Cropper CEO, Phil Wild, presented the charity’s chief executive, Andy Beeforth, with a cheque, which was handed over at the Burneside Mill on 6 March 2017.
Phil Wild said: “We are delighted to support Cumbria Community Foundation, which has provided crucial assistance and funding for a number of worthy causes across the county.
Support for Worthy Causes in our Community
“We’re very much committed to supporting the local community and the foundation is very close to the hearts of many James Cropper employees. Our former Chairman and namesake Sir James Cropper is the current patron of the charity, and has witnessed firsthand the tremendous work the foundation is responsible for.”
Cumbria Community Foundation exists to strengthen communities by connecting people who care with inspirational, life-changing projects across the county. The charity provides support to more than 500 community projects per year and has made grants totalling over £30 million since its inception in 1999.
Andy Beeforth said: “We’re very grateful for James Cropper’s continued support. This latest donation has been earmarked to fund our work in Kendal and the surrounding area, and will be a welcome source of support for Cumbrian residents.”
