Innovation is at the heart of everything the company does, and its range of papers reflects this. Everything from inspiring ideas to creative applications. From fantastic stock ranges to bespoke makings. From bright and vivid colours to delicate and subtle hues. From great customer service to a strong environmental ethos. At James Cropper there is something to appeal to everyone – and this offer has now got even better.
The company has been quick to recognise that there was a gap in the packaging market that needed filling. What was lacking was a high end, luxury option in the food sector, yet one which was readily available and certified for food contact. A paperboard that still embraced the innovation and inspiration for which James Cropper is renowned, but that was suitable for a more luxurious product.
That was the reasoning behind the launch of the company’s latest product – Dolcelicious – which was presented at Packaging Innovations in London.
Richard Burnett, market development manager at James Cropper, told Packaging Solutions, ‘We have been working in the food packaging market for a number of years, making lots of bespoke papers for customers. But we recognised that there can be a time delay for a bespoke product and what we needed was an own
range that is ready certified for food contact yet was suitable for the luxury end of the food market. Dolcelicious can be used for things such as confectionery, drinks and high end bakery items – in fact it is suitable for contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuff.’
‘We have therefore developed the new uncoated range in seven different paper shades, and four film laminates.’
Not only beautiful to the eye, Dolcelicious also comes with tactile qualities to make all brands feel ‘premium’. Colours include Elderflower White (clean and crisp with a natural feel), Lemon Drizzle (bright and vivid – a perfect complement to rich, dark products), Summer Coulis (soft and delicate pink), Kiwi Fizz (subtle, cool and minty), Roasted Chestnut (warm brown), Black Lentil (a softer, more natural looking black), and Liquorice (a deep black, when the height of luxury is needed), with shimmering and metallic laminates in Honey Gold Gloss and Matt, and Silver Spoon Gloss and Matt. Weights cover 120, 165, and 330 g/m2 for the uncoateds and 120 and 300 g/m2 for the laminates.
Dolcelicious is suitable for all major print processes including litho, dry toner and flexo, as well as finishing applications such as die cutting, blind embossing, foil blocking, and laser cutting.
And, of course, James Cropper’s strong environmental and quality ethos is also supported in this new paper. It is FSC certified and manufactured in the UK to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS
18001 standards.
