TEA BREAK WITH….Stefan Pryor, Senior Product Manager - Luxury Packaging

We sat down with Stefan Pryor and asked him 6 questions.
Tell us about a typical day in your role at James Cropper.
The past 16 months have mainly been spent working from home, so I have perfected my barista skills! I always make myself a frothy cappuccino first thing in the morning to get my day off to a good start!I aim to get caught up on my emails before a daily team call at 9am starts. Our morning team call gives us the chance for a bit of a catch up and to focus on a particular topic or project we are all working on and how we can help each other out. This has been a nice way to keep connected with colleagues during the pandemic
As the economy starts to reopen and restrictions lift, it has been nice to return to work in the Paper Mill again and hear the machines running! I’ve missed it!
During your career at James Cropper, what has been your most memorable highlight?
It has to be pitching our CupCycling™ innovation to a panel of industry experts at Luxepack New York in 2018. It was for the ‘In Green Sustainability Award’ and we won! It was a great personal experience and really fun accepting the award on behalf of everyone at James Cropper. What work are you particularly proud of at James Cropper?
I am proud of all the work we do. I’m proud that I can walk into a local shop, airport duty free or any retail store in all four corners of the world and always find a product that has been made using James Cropper’s paper!
Who do you most admire in the industry?
Not a person but what I admire about the James Cropper business is that, despite advances in technology and new innovations that have emerged during our 177 year history, the beautiful papers we make are still equally as reliant on the skills and craftsmanship of our people. That’s admirable!
Which three things would you take to a desert island?
1. Music2. A football
3. A book
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Craft beer! I enjoy supporting small local breweries and learning about the brewing process too, it’s not just about the beer!
