Millions of additional coffee cups will find their way to the English Lake District from cities across the UK, thanks to a partnership between paper manufacturer James Cropper and the Cup Fund.
The investments needed to encourage the recycling of coffee cups are partly due to Starbucks, which on its own initiative implemented a supplement on disposable cups and donated the proceeds to combat plastic pollution.
The coffee cups are collected and processed by waste managers and then given a second life at James Cropper's CupCyclingTM facility.
The old cups are transformed into beautiful paper, packaging and office supplies, including the new collection of greeting cards from Hallmark. A wonderful example of circular design.
